While the official history of Gulf Coast Precision Ag only runs back a few years, the roots run back decades. The origin of this business is rooted in the LaserPlane control systems that were installed in the early 1980s on tractor-pulled scrapers.

The company's roots are tied to the parent organization Hlavinka Equipment Company, which boasts 85-plus years of continuous operation. Until about 5 years ago, the precision farming side of the business was simply a department within the parent company. As precision agriculture evolved and more products became available, the need for branching out became apparent.

So, after many years of being under the umbrella of Hlavinka Equipment Co, the precision agriculture department set out to be a more independent entity, and Gulf Coast Precision Ag was formed. We have the best of both worlds to offer! We have access to the equipment company and all of its resources, but have also had the shackles of just supporting one brand released and can support all brands of precision equipment.
